If you are reading this, you've successfully taken extra steps to become an "approved" viewer. I am very sorry for the inconvenience for those of you who have shown me support and told me you thought what I was doing was a good idea. If you don't want to read this any longer, however, then please don't. No hard feelings...I won't even know who you are.
Why am I going private?
Let's just say that there have been some people who have been rather non-supportive of this little Africa "thing" (people who I never thought would say the things they've said). But even this Chicago girl who lived smack dab in the middle of the "bloods" and the "crypts" and knew how to fend for herself, doesn't know how much more discouragement she can take. (not the bright and cheery post you were expecting, is it?) Just being honest.
On the bright side, I KNOW that what I'm doing is the right thing because obviously someone "down there" isn't happy about it. Well, "to hell with him"(literally). He's not invited!
I promise to be much more cheerful, uplifting and inspiring in my next post!
And, I almost have a date worked out for the fund-raiser mentioned below. (I think having the wind knocked out of me a few times lately affected me more than I realized.)
Angie-
ReplyDeleteDon't get discouraged! You are one of the kindest, most generous people I know on the planet!! You know better than anyone, you are doing what is right. I think sometimes the people who make comments like that are either ignorant or jealous on some level. Good luck to you! I'll continue to think of you and help you along the way!
Honey, I agree with cherpal... only those who feel bad about themselves (or perhaps guilty for doing nothing) try to bring down the good works of others! You do your thing & God will handle the poo-poo heads out there!! :) love you tons
ReplyDeleteRemember James 1:27 posted at the entry of your blog. Those who criticize have not taken this scripture to heart and cannot fathom why anyone would do what you are trying to accomplish. Keep going forward. You will come back with such a powerful testimony, it'll blow their minds! A person's negative comments or thoughts are miniscule to the mighty calling the Lord has placed on you. I will keep praying for you girl! (on a side note, we want to make a cardboard sculpture, but I'm scared of my creative limits! We'll figure out something!) God Bless You :)
ReplyDeleteYou are awesome, well God is awesome, but I know that you are going to be such a blessing to those kids in Africa as he uses you for his purpose. There will always be opposition along the way whenever we start aligning our priorities with God's, but we must be strong and endure. Galations 1:10 says Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ. Angie, you are a servant of the most High. We will pray for you and and are very excited about your journey.
ReplyDeleteAngie - You already know that I think you are amazing. You are doing and have done things I could never do. As always, I am in awe of your tenacity and ability to "make it happen." Follow your heart! :)
ReplyDeleteNot shocked. Have been there girlfriend! You are right on target though when you mentioned where all that junk stems from. He is NOT in control of this or you so you just stay strong! You go with I AM and the rest does not matter....catch your breath, brush yourself off and keep moving forward. So many love, support and will be praying for you every step you take. Just like you have done for me so many times in the last two years! Sending you loves and enjoying a cup of coffee for both of us(LOL)from TN!
